Breaking The Cycle Of Poverty

One Life At A Time

Four areas of impact. One mission: restore dignity and transform lives.

CRC Cares implements structured, community-based initiatives focused primarily on women and children - combining compassionate action with measurable impact across four key focus areas.

01

Women & Children Care and Protection

Talitha Cumi Place of Safety

Established in 2008 and in partnership with Childline SA, Talitha Cumi is a registered Place of Safety providing refuge, protection and holistic care for vulnerable children. The programme primarily supports children from newborn to 10 years old who have experienced abandonment, neglect or abuse.  At Talitha Cumi, every child is welcomed into a nurturing environment where healing, stability and hope can begin again.

Beauty for Ashes

In partnership with CRC Church Women’s Ministry, we provide support for pregnant women and women escaping situations of abuse, offering safety, dignity and restoration during critical moments of transition.

Women Empowerment Project

The CRC Cares Women’s Empowerment Project is a year-long transformational programme designed to uplift women from underprivileged communities and equip them for sustainable independence. Each year, five women are carefully selected to participate in this intensive development journey.

02

Poverty Relief & Community Outreach

Food, Clothing, and Essentials Distribution

We provide nutritious meals, blankets, clothes, and toiletries to vulnerable families.

Creches for Africa (Early Childhood Support)

CRC Cares equips community creches with learning resources for teachers and creates joyful experiences for the children like sport and fun days. In this way, the children can play, learn, and connect in ways their communities don’t always allow them to.

Christmas Parties at Orphanages

We host special celebrations across South Africa’s orphanages to demonstrate the love of God to the most vulnerable and remind each child that they are not forgotten as we stand together to Defend The Fatherless. Each child receives a brand-new gift and gets to enjoy a special party with good food and fun games as they receive the love of thousands of volunteers who make these parties such a success.

03

Youth Empowerment & Skills Development

Youth Service Programmes placing unemployed youth in work experience opportunities.

Full tertiary bursaries for high-potential students.

Sport-based life skills programmes delivered in partnership with The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, focusing on resilience, discipline, and positive life choices.

04

Health & Community Wellness

Health & Community Wellness

Through strategic partnerships, CRC Cares facilitates access to basic healthcare and wellness services for communities that are often underserved.

Medical Outreach & Health Screenings

CRC Cares coordinates community-based medical outreach initiatives providing general health screenings and basic medical assessments for children and adults. These check-ups help identify untreated conditions, enabling early intervention and referrals where further care is required.

Vision Screening & Prescription Glasses

In partnership with Eyecare 4 Africa, we conduct specialised vision screening programmes to identify children and adults with undiagnosed vision challenges. Those who require corrective lenses receive prescription glasses through our partner networks - improving academic performance, confidence and daily functioning.

05

Fundraising & Awareness Campaigns

Run for me Charity Fun Run

Our annual Run For Me Charity Fun Run brings together communities to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children in our care. Participants run for a cause, helping to provide care, protection and opportunities for children through the programmes of CRC Cares. At this event, we make a stand to Defend the Fatherless together.  The event has grown into a powerful platform for community engagement, drawing together families, corporates and volunteers who share a commitment to making a difference.

Talitha Cumi Charity Golf Day

The Talitha Cumi Charity Golf Day is an annual fundraising event that brings together business leaders, partners and supporters to raise critical funding for the care and development of the children at Talitha Cumi Place of Safety.  Beyond the game itself, the event serves as an important platform for corporate engagement and partnership, allowing organisations to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing and future of vulnerable children.  Through the generosity of participants and sponsors, this initiative continues to play a vital role in sustaining the daily care, resources and opportunities provided to the children in our homes.
