A Christmas to Remember
Bringing Hope and Restoring Dignity
Christmas is a season of joy and giving, but for many vulnerable children, it can also highlight what they may be missing. In 2025, CRC Cares set out to bring hope, restore dignity, and remind every child that they are seen, valued and loved by God through our Christmas Parties initiative.
Across Bloemfontein, Pretoria and Johannesburg, we hosted Christmas parties at 18 orphanages, including our very own Talitha Cumi Place of Safety. Over two weeks, 646 CRC volunteers came together to serve, bringing joy to 916 orphaned children.
Each child received a personalised Christmas gift, enjoyed a party filled with food and fun, and most importantly, heard the Word of God and a message of hope and love.
A National Impact
The initiative grew into a national movement as CRC churches across the country joined in. In total, Christmas parties were held at 55 orphanages, including three in Botswana and Namibia. Together, 1,041 CRC volunteers reached 2,535 orphaned and vulnerable children, creating moments of joy and reminding children that they are not forgotten.
The impact extended beyond the children. Volunteers were deeply moved by the opportunity to serve and witnessed firsthand the difference that a simple act of love can make.
This was more than a Christmas party. It was an opportunity to bring hope, restore dignity and remind every child that they are seen, valued and loved by God.
